Planning and Recording Your Finances
There are times when you need an accountant to look at your finances and there are times when a clear, simple, interactive spreadsheet is what you need. In fact, you might want to present said spreadsheet to your accountant as a basis for discussion.
From a conversation or from your written notes, I can produce financial spreadsheets which will allow you to play with different ideas. A budget projection will help you think about the future of your business. You can say “what if?” and generate different scenarios, growth rates, and returns on your investment (ROI).
A balance sheet will give you a “snapshot” of how your finances look today. If you’re looking for funding, from the bank, or a business enterprise scheme, local or central government, you have to start with a balance sheet and a budget projection.
Keeping your accounts on a spreadsheet – which doesn’t have to be complicated – will help when the dreaded time for completing the tax return comes round and the more you record on a day-to-day basis, the less need to panic as October or January 31st approaches!
