Taking on staff
Employing staff is a big step for a small business. I can help you with recruitment and selection. I am a trained recruiter and I can conduct an “Equal Opportunities” interview. I will help you through the shortlisting procedure, guide you about the questions you should (and shouldn’t!) ask and show you how to take notes and fill in a matrix at the interview stage. I can be on your interview panel to make sure all goes smoothly and as an independent observer in case of any dispute.
Managing Staff
In the case of grievance and disciplinary proceedings, you might find it useful to involve an independent person at an early stage of your procedures. In a small organisation, it will be difficult to find someone who can investigate matters in a truly objective, impartial way. That’s no reflection on you: it’s just human nature.
I have years of experience in these matters and I can take the burden of these unpleasant proceedings from you, and hopefully resolve the situation without the need for you or your employee to go down the route of litigation.

Redundancies
Sadly, in these difficult economic times many firms and third sector organisations are having to consider reducing their staff numbers by a redundancy programme. I can help to make this as fair as possible to all parties and to reduce the risk of disputes and litigation.
