For people and spiders

Whether you buy a WordPress website from me or have a custom-built site costing thousands of pounds, you will need to provide the “content”. Web designers use this word to mean the writing, graphics, pictures and so on that go onto your website.

An example is your “About Me” page, where you will need a short story of your life, a picture of yourself, and perhaps a little about your family, depending on the kind of website it is. Not everybody is confident that they can put the words together for this, but most people are quite capable of talking about themselves without much provocation! I will take down what you say, or take your hand-written notes or an email from you, and turn it into “content” for your site.

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

SEO is an industry in itself and I will not go into too much detail here. Search engines like Google have “spiders” that crawl all over your website (sorry about this, arachnophobes) and find the “keywords” that people are looking for. When writing website content, it is important to know what keywords need to be included.
